2nd Price for Xbloc students at Dutch Waterbouwdag

Giel Demmers and Tim Janssen of the Hogeschool van Arnhem and Nijmegen (HAN), have won the 2nd price in the category Applied Sciences during the Dutch Waterbouwdag, for their graduate research named "From XblocPlus to EcoblocPlus".

During their research they have investigated how to create breakwater armour blocks which provide the required protection against the sea and which are at the same time attractive for flora and fauna. 

The jury valued their multi functional approach, the high level of their research and the practicality of the results which makes it possible to translate their research into real life projects.
