Our Blocks

DMC has been working on innovative solutions to provide effective defence against waves and currents since 2000. We have 4 main systems:

• Xbloc: A randomly placed concrete armor unit for breakwaters and shore protections.
• XblocPlus: DMC's new design; a pattern-placed concrete armor unit for breakwaters and shore protections.
• Xstream/XstreamPlus: Small Xblocs placed in bulk to provide a.o. river groynes, guide dams, quay support structures and scour protections (on- and offshore). As these structures are only made of Xstream/XstreamPlus blocks, they are highly flexible and can be easily adapted to for example mitigate effects of climate change. The use of steep slopes of 1:1, the high porosity of the structure and application of various environmentally friendly material properties all contribute to an as low as possible CO2 footprint.  
• Xstone: Developed for nature inclusive design, fast production and low CO₂, suitable for large-scale applications, both onshore and offshore. 

Within these 4 main systems DMC continuously strives to develop innovations to make our projects more safe, practical, sustainable and efficient.
