Xbloc groynes

Xbloc armour units can also be used to protect groynes. Thanks to the relatively steep slopes less core, filter and armour material is required as compared to rock armoured groynes.

An example of a project with Xbloc armoured groynes is located in Cotonou, Benin. To counteract coastal erosion, new groynes were constructed east of the Port of Cotonou.
