Black Rocks Harbor on Saba is being developed to improve maritime access and resilience against hurricanes. Environmental measures, including coral relocation and reef preservation, are part of the project to minimize ecological impact. As part of the harbor’s breakwater design, Xbloc units will be applied as the primary armor layer. For this project, the selected block size is 14 m³, designed to withstand local hurricane conditions. To validate the design, 3D physical model tests were executed in 2025, and the start of construction is expected in 2026.
